Lake Regional Cares For Kids Festival

Lake Regional will host Lake Regional Cares for Kids Festival, a fun day for families, on from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21. There will be helicopter and ambulance tours, an obstacle course for kids, pumpkin painting, car seat safety checks and much more. A $5 all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast will benefit Kids Harbor, and kids 5 and younger eat free. Plus, kids who wear costumes will be entered to win prizes.

9th Annual Totes for TaTa's Event

$20 per person at the door includes a drink ticket, door prize entry, 1 bingo card, appetizers, cash bar and more. Silent auction of new and gently used purses begins at 1pm, with appetizers available to munch on & live entertainment. Camdenton Parks in association with the Camdenton Art Advisory Board will host a day focused on the Arts. Planning is underway with tentative plans for exhibits and activities throughout City Park to include art demonstrations and classes in various forms of media such as oil and water based paint, fiber, sculpture, clay and paper. A kids area will be available where they can create an assortment of art projects to take home with them. Displays of works by local and regional artists and a vendors area where items can be purchased are in the works as well. Performances may include local dance groups, musical acts, poetry readings and theatrical sketches.

All About Our 40 Winks Foundation

Our Lake of the Ozarks furniture store knows how important it is to give back to our community. Slumberland Furniture is involved and gives back in a number of ways. This week, we're featuring our 40 Winks Foundation. It's a cause that is near and dear to our hearts. Learn more about this incredible foundation below!

Slumberland created the 40 Winks Foundation to see that all children get off the floor and tucked into a warm bed every night.

How would it affect your daily life, including school or work? Unfortunately, that’s the reality for thousands of children across America. Getting a good night’s sleep is something they can only dream about.

That’s why Slumberland Furniture created the 40 Winks Foundation. Drawing its name from an old English expression for just the right amount of sleep, the foundation works to provide mattresses and beds to children who need them most.

Slumberland has been giving new beds – and good sleep – to those in need since 1991, through its annual Homes for the Holidays giving event each December. Over the years it became clear that a once-a-year event did not begin to cover the need that existed, and in 2008 the 40 Winks Foundation was born. Through the Foundation, new beds are distributed through our network of charity partners all year long.

By providing these basic resources, we hope to give children and families a full and healthy night’s sleep—and ultimately, a better quality of life.

It's important for children to get a good nights sleep. If they are well rested they will likely do better in school and have a better attitude. Providing beds for children in need is an important cause. Our children are the future of the world and we work hard to give them the best chance at success by providing a comfortable bed for a good nights sleep! Catch the Top Racers at the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout

One of the biggest events at the Lake of the Ozarks is this weekend! The 30th Annual Lake of the Ozarks Shootout is taking place on 8/25 & 8/26. All About the Shootout:

The Lake of the Ozarks Shootout brings top powerboat racers and offshore racing powerboats from across the country, topping 200 MPH. The largest unsanctioned boat race in the Midwest with over 100 racers and 100,000 spectators. This event is located at Captain Ron's Bar & Grill at the 34-mile mark. Proceeds of this family-friendly event will benefit the Lake Area Rescue Teams and other charitable organizations!
