Meet the Team - Daryl Cunningham

Are you looking for a unique furniture shopping experience? Our Lake of the Ozarks furniture store offers a wide range of options to complete your space. Question 1: How long have you lived at the Lake of the Ozarks?

Born & raised here. I graduated from Camdenton High School. Moved away for just a few years but this is where I wanted to raise our family and grow old.

Question 2: Who is your family?

My wife - Katy - is a kindergarten teacher in the Camdenton School District. We have daughters Sarah, Sydney, Caroline, and son Tyler.

Question 3: What is your favorite room to furnish? 

The bedroom is my favorite room to furnish, without a doubt. We can literally change the quality of a persons life by the quality of sleep they are able to get.

Question 4: What sets Slumberland Furniture in Osage Beach apart?

Our atmosphere we use to build personal relationships with our clients. The furniture is typically the third largest purchase a person makes so we take the time to get to know you, your family, and how you're going to use the furniture.

Question 5: What is something no one knows about you?

I would love to get into fly fishing. Travel and fish remote spots - getting to witness natures beauty.

Question 6: What is most rewarding about your job?

When you can help a couple get back to sleeping in the same room after ones been sleeping in a recliner for quite some time. We have sleep systems to fit almost any need and help make almost anyone comfortable.

Question 7: What do you enjoy in your free time?

Hunting, fishing, canoeing, and anything outdoors.

Question 8: What is your favorite collection in the store?

I love the Canadel dining collection. We get to design each piece specifically for our clients needs to create a one of a kind look. And dining collections bring the family together. I love that.

Question 9: If you could furnish a famous person’s home, who would it be and why?  

This is going to sound corny but I get way more satisfaction furnishing normal everyday people's homes that I see out in our community regularly. I've been blessed to work with several pretty "famous" people. The reality is what I do for them probably isn't going to mean as much or last as long as it does for some of our "regular" clients. I love the idea of friends and family gathering around a dining table or living room set that we are able to put together. Something you know is going to stand the test of time and make everyone feel welcome.

Question 10: What is your favorite thing about living at The Lake?

The Lake is such a beautiful place to live. We have all four seasons, wonderful state parks and great recreation areas. Plus people come from all over the country making memories that will last a lifetime and we get to be a part of that!

Save the date! The 17th annual Citizens Against Domestic Violence Brunch will be held October 10, 2018 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at The Lodge of Four Seasons Campana Hall in Lake Ozark. The theme this year is “Favorite Pastime.” Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available. Last year, about 400 people attended the event which includes a buffet of what the best Lake-area restaurants have to offer.

Lake Regional Cares For Kids Festival

Lake Regional will host Lake Regional Cares for Kids Festival, a fun day for families, on from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21. There will be helicopter and ambulance tours, an obstacle course for kids, pumpkin painting, car seat safety checks and much more. A $5 all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast will benefit Kids Harbor, and kids 5 and younger eat free. Plus, kids who wear costumes will be entered to win prizes.

9th Annual Totes for TaTa's Event

$20 per person at the door includes a drink ticket, door prize entry, 1 bingo card, appetizers, cash bar and more. Silent auction of new and gently used purses begins at 1pm, with appetizers available to munch on & live entertainment. After plenty of shopping time we will play a few rounds of Purse Bingo and call it an afternoon! We are collecting new and gently used purses - especially high end bags. You can contact me or drop at any of these locations: Bella Donna Salon, Camdenton Chamber Office, Flipback Resale Shop, Lake Regional Cancer Center, Mother’s Shrine, Serenity Medical Spa and Seven Springs Winery. All funds raised stay local benefiting cancer patients receiving treatment at Lake Regional Center through their HOPE Program.

Camdenton ArtsFest

Camdenton Parks in association with the Camdenton Art Advisory Board will host a day focused on the Arts. Planning is underway with tentative plans for exhibits and activities throughout City Park to include art demonstrations and classes in various forms of media such as oil and water based paint, fiber, sculpture, clay and paper. A kids area will be available where they can create an assortment of art projects to take home with them. Displays of works by local and regional artists and a vendors area where items can be purchased are in the works as well. Performances may include local dance groups, musical acts, poetry readings and theatrical sketches.
